In Town Recreational League Information

Recreational Program Mission Statement                                    

The recreational baseball program of FCBC promotes an educational and instructional program for individuals in the Fort Collins area. The FCBC recreational program promotes full player participation which includes the development of a healthy attitude toward sportsmanship and respect for authority, together with the instruction in baseball rules, skills, and the element of play.

Recreational Leagues: PLEASE READ

The information below relates to recreational leagues.

  • All recreational teams are provided with team equipment: Bats, practice & game balls, catcher's equipment (per league), batting helmets. Players are allowed to use their own equipment as long as it meets National Safety Standards. Player's who use their own catcher's gear, MUST have chest protectors in league's 9-14 with a tail, and all helmets MUST have full ear protection (NO SKULL CAPs), as well as, an additional throat guard.
    • All age cutoffs are based on your age as of 9/15/2008t o determine which league you should play in,
    • PLAYING UP: FCBC will allow for movement up one age level if the child will be turning the older age during the months of May - September 15th. This is to allow for the players who we know have been affected by are age cutoff.
    • Coaches will contact players beginning in Early May: Coaches most often will conduct practices after 5pm and will in the beginning of the season may have two to three practices prior to the start of league games.
    • Game schedules are posted to the club website by May 10th  
    • Teams are comprised of boys and girls from the same school
    • All Recreational players must have the FCBC approved uniform for GOJOS
    • FCBC Provides ALL Baseball Equipment for teams; EXCEPT for the players glove and shoes
    • Players are assigned to teams based on the school they attend on a "First Come, First Serve" basis. REGISTRATION POLICY
    • Practices will be in Mid May, and are determined by the coach as to how many per week.
    • Games are played at Elementary fields, Jr. High Fields and City of Ft Collins Neighborhood Parks and Community Parks
    • Games may not be played at the school you attend
    • ALL LEAGUES: 5 TO 17/UNDER HAVE A END OF SEASON PLAYOFF
    • Intermediate League is for players 10 to 12 years of age. 9 year olds may tryout up for this league
      • Players wishing to tryout for the league must be registered with FCBC in the Recreational League BY February 22nd
      • Players who are drafted onto a Intermediate Team will be moved from their Recreational Team to the Intermediate Team
      • Players must be willing to commit to 6 weeks of training along with the game play.
      • By trying out you will agreeeing to be drafted to a Intermediate team. Backing out of a Intermediate Team after trying out and being drafted will may result in the LOSS of a open team spot to move back into the Recreational League.

T-Ball

June 2- July 12

12 League games (# of games are not guaranteed) 2 games per week Monday - Friday, in town 6:00 PM games, include end of season PLAYOFF. T-Ball is for children 5 as of 9/15/08 and is similar to Peewee Baseball, except there is no pitcher--instead the ball is balanced on a chest-level tee. The batter swings until he/she hits the ball. There are one hour games, with 9 players on the field. NO METAL CLEATS

Advanced T-Ball * Softoss

(Must turn 6 by 9/15/08 )

June 2- July 12 12 League games (# of games are not guaranteed) 2 games per week Monday - Friday, in town 6:00 PM games,includes end of season PLAYOFF: Coach Soft Toss is for 6 year old children with some baseball experience. In this game, the team coach will soft toss the baseball to his/her players, as well as, incorporate the Tee if needed. One hour games, with 9 players on the field. Regulation equipment is used.

June 2- July 13 12 League games (# of games are not guaranteed) 2 games per week Monday - Friday, in town 6:00 PM games, includes end of season PLAYOFF. Coach Pitch is for 7 year old children with some baseball experience. In this game, the team coach pitches to his/her players. One and a half hour games, with 9 players on the field. Regulation equipment is used. NO METAL CLEATS

12 League games (# of games are not guaranteed) 2 games per week Monday - Friday, in town 6:00 PM games, includes end of season PLAYOFF. Coach/Player Pitch is for 8 year old children with some baseball experience and is a great Little League primer. In this game, the team coach pitches to his/her players, both player and coach pitch alternating innings. One and a half hour game, with 9 players on the field. Regulation equipment is used.  NO METAL CLEATS

Games are usually 6:00 weekday & some Saturday games, includes end of season PLAYOFF. Some Games may be played in Greeley, Loveland or Longmont  Two hour games, 9 players on the field, and two Official Umpires. Regulation equipment is used.METAL CLEATS ALLOWED

  • This League is designed to provide players the opportunity to play Baseball with little or no modifications to the game, along with Training for each team for 6 weeks. Players who tryout and are then drafted on teams in this league are expected to make the commitment to attend 6 training sessions, along with league game play. League Play will be played in town and may include weekday and Saturday game play. League includes an end of season playoff. Players are required to attend a tryout in on February 24th at the Edge Sports Center . Placement and number of teams are limited in this league. All Players must be registered with FCBC in the Recreational League by February 22nd to Tryout for this League.
  • Please NOTE: By trying out you are agreeing to be drafted to a team. If you back out after tryouts and draft, FCBC can not guarantee that there will be placement back to a recreational team from your school or any other.
  • Players will pay the recreational portion and then pay the balance later as team when drafted to the team
  • Dropping OFF of the Team: Players who drop off of an Intermediate Team during training or the season, will be only refunded a pro-rated amount based on the league fee of games. This DOES NOT included any refund of the uniform cost which is owed by the players. Players who have committed to this league and drop off are  NOT AUTOMATICALLY given  movement back to the recreational league.

Northern Colorado Rookie League

9 - 14 yr olds
April - June League open to travel teams around Northern Colorado. Families interested in these teams can access their team profiles from the FCBC Website. These Travel Teams play an average of 40 + games Wk day & Wk ends includes end of season tournament Teaam Cost

Tournament Teams March - early August
These teams are FCBC Club Travel Tournament Teams who will average with tournament play only, 60+ games. Players on these teams fundraise throughtout the year to offset their additional cost incurred on an individual per team basis, fee is for administrative & insurance costs--It does NOT include the individual tournament fees

HIGH SCHOOL

Summer Club Teams
May 20th  - July 31st High School teams in the Summer are part of the FCBC Club High School Program. These teams are a carry over from their Spring High School Teams. The Summer Club Teams will play an average of 55 + games Wk day & Wk ends includes tournaments. The Varsity Club Team Coach will determine for FCBC which league they will play in each year. High School coaches are paide through their player league fees in the summer to coach. The Team Costs are for levels A, B, or C are determined by the High School Coach: 14 year old teams who seek to play a HS Summer Schedule may register with FCBC and play C HS Team Summer League .

Age Reminder

Recreational League Ages for league placement are determined as of  9/15/2008.
Example 1: Your child turns 9 on 9/16/2008 (or later). You may register your child to play 8 year-old leage because he/she was still 8 on 9/15/2008
Example 2: Your child turns 9 on 9/15/2008 (or before). You must register for 9 year-olds and may not register your child to play in the 8 year-old leage because he/she was 9 on 9/15/2008

Intermediate & Travel Teams: Age placements are for these leagues ONLY are determined as of 4/30/2008


Uniforms

All Recreational Players must have the approved uniform from GOJO Sports


League Movement

PLAYING UP: Recreational
We do not allow playing up in the recreational leagues. You man not register your child to play in a league that is intended for older players.

PLAYING DOWN: Recreational
Players may play in a league intended for younger players if a written notice is provided by a physician or a school counselor stating that it is in the childs best interests to play with younger children.


Scholarships

Families seeking scholarships must complete the scholarship form and attach it with your registration. All information of this form must be completed to process it. Registration of player will not be finalized until the paperwork is processed.


Refunds

Refunds prior to May 20th will be accessed a $40 processing fee. There will be NO REFUNDS after May 20th.
